Preferred Insurance Services
Health Insurance
Navigating health insurance on your own is a hassle. We simplify the process and help you find a plan that fits your needs and your budget.
Whether you're self-employed, between jobs, a small business owner, or just not thrilled with your current plan, we can help you find individual, family, or small group coverage. We work with Select Health, Humana, United Healthcare, and others to compare options and make sure you understand what you're buying before you enroll.
What's covered
Individual & Family Plans
ACA-compliant plans on and off the exchange. Includes preventive care, prescription coverage, and essential health benefits.
Small Group Plans
Coverage for businesses with 1–50 employees. Employer contributions, employee options, and compliance support.
Short-Term Health Plans
Temporary coverage for gaps between major medical plans. Not ACA-compliant but can fill short-term needs at lower cost.
Dental & Vision
Standalone dental and vision plans to complement your medical coverage. Often available as riders or separate policies.
HSA-Compatible Plans
High-deductible health plans (HDHPs) paired with a Health Savings Account — a tax-advantaged way to save for medical expenses.
Supplemental Health
Hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness policies that pay cash benefits directly to you after a qualifying event.
Things to keep in mind
- 1
Your subsidy eligibility for ACA marketplace plans is based on your projected annual income. If your income is variable (self-employed, contractor), we can help you estimate correctly to avoid an unexpected repayment at tax time.
- 2
A lower premium doesn't always mean lower total cost. Factor in deductible, copays, and out-of-pocket maximum when comparing plans.
- 3
If you or a family member takes regular prescriptions, check whether those medications are on the plan's formulary before enrolling.
- 4
Open Enrollment for ACA plans typically runs November 1 through January 15. If you miss it, you'll need a qualifying life event (job loss, marriage, new baby) to enroll outside that window.

Common questions
What's the difference between HMO, PPO, and EPO plans?
HMO plans require a primary care physician and referrals but tend to have lower premiums. PPOs offer more flexibility to see any provider but cost more. EPOs are a middle ground — no referrals needed but out-of-network care isn't covered. We'll explain the tradeoffs based on your situation.
Can I keep my current doctor?
That depends on the plan's network. We can check whether your preferred doctors and hospitals are in-network before you enroll.
I'm self-employed. What are my options?
You can purchase an individual or family plan on or off the exchange. Depending on your income, you may qualify for a premium tax credit. Self-employed health insurance premiums are also generally tax-deductible.
